If you’ve found the track listing for George Strait’s upcoming album, Honky Tonk Time Machine, on the internet, you might have noticed a super special guest for the King of Country Music—his grandson, Harvey.
One thing that surprised me was that Harvey isn't just good in the studio... he's already got the power to master a live audience!
At just 7 years old, and the spitting image of his daddy, Bubba, Harvey was unfazed by the thousands of fans in the audience when he grabbed the mic.
While his part in the song "God and Country Music" wasn't until later in the song, he stood up there with Grandpa George and helped kick off the duet. With no cues given by George, Harvey chimed in at exactly the right time to finish the song... and George couldn't have been more proud.
How cute is he?
If you missed the debut of Harvey at the Rodeo Houston show, you can still enjoy listening to Honky Tonk Time Machine(click to buy) when it's released on March 29.
In addition to Harvey’s featured vocal on “God and Country Music,” George also collaborated with Willie Nelson for the appropriately titled, “Sing One with Willie,” and co-wrote eight of the album’s tracks.
